The richest & most glamorous Gyms in America

August 23, 2016

The 1% is at it again; spending more on their gyms than those in the lesser percentages make in a year. At least we can look on from the internet, because these exclusive fitness hubs are excessively gorgeous.

E at Equinox

And you thought your Kiehl’s was fancy. Both locations of this Equinox off-shoot (up-shoot?) in NYC and Greenwich, CT are tranquil and nearly unpopulated, because hey, how many people can shell out $26,000 a year for a gym membership?

When you dish out the big bucks, though, you’ll get freshly laundered athletic gear, personal training, nutrition guidance, and private changing cabanas. Plus, it’s invitation only and you can only enter after a retina scan, so no running into your former gym-nemesis here!

The East Bank Club

This Chicago sport’s facilities, which have been graced by the likes of Oprah and Obama, include a 20,000-square-foot room full of cardio machines, a driving range, and two full basketball courts. After enjoying the indoor amenities, members can hop a cruise of the lake or kayak their way out on the water themselves.

East Bank Club

From the outside, you’d be forgiven for thinking the East Bank Club looks like a factory or just another bland office building.  It’s not trying to impress you with its looks, though: it’s what’s on the inside that counts with this gym.  No matter what your sport: golf, volleyball, biking, it’s available in this four-story, massive complex.  They have extensive classes, personal trainers, and, of course, plenty of people to compete in weight training challenges with.

Drive 495

This high-tech hub in Lower Manhattan will give you a good workout that you can recover from with their cryotherapy facilities. Afterwards, you can pretend that you’re in Scotland and have a virtual whack at Saint Andrews…. All in a day’s workout!

The Houstonian

Even with state-of-the-art facilities like a climbing wall, a boxing ring, spas, and on-call dietitians, this place oozes old south. Just have the funds to be able to pay $24,000 a year plus $200 monthly fees, and you’ll be able to participate!

Zenergy

In the depths of the Sun Valley, Idaho lies the most picturesque “health center” you will ever set eyes on. Zenergy, as its name suggests, is the new age’s answer to your plain, old-fashioned gym. They offer acupuncture and reflexology along with pilates, spinning, yoga, and squash facilities.

Plus, the views from the pool might be enough for certain people to justify the $15,000 initiation if not also the $135 monthly membership fee.

David Barton Gym

This chain, with multiple locations around the country, is always cool regardless of location. One stand out lies in Chelsea in the church turned nightclub turned gym, the Limelight.

Besides mood lighting and sets from famed DJs, David Barton Gymsoffer up a wide variety of classes that might make you want to get up and exercise before work.
