Commonwealth Day is the annual celebration of the Commonwealth nations marked by a multi-faith service in Westminster Abbey. This year the broadcast had the theme of “A Young Commonwealth”.

From The Queen’s annual Commonwealth day message: “One simple lesson from history is that when people come together to talk, to exchange ideas and to develop common goals, wonderful things can happen. In the Commonwealth we are a group of 53 nations of dramatically different sizes and climates. But over the years, drawing on our shared history, we have seen and acted upon the huge advantages of mutual cooperation and understanding, for the benefit of our countries and the people who live in them.Commonwealth Day provides each of us, as members of this worldwide family, with a chance to recommit ourselves to upholding the values of the Commonwealth Charter. It has the power to enrich us all, but, just as importantly in an uncertain world, it gives us a good reason to keep talking“.

That was the third time Kate and William stepped out in Westminster Abbey as a married couple! Their visit is in alternative years: 2011, 2013, 2015. I guess the next visit to the Abbey will be in 2017, maybe with another Royal Baby on the way!

Kate opted for a repeated outfit for the Commonwealth Observance. She was wearing her pink Prada pumps and her Prada Satin Logo Box Clutch. She also repeated her customised Alexander McQueen coat, he one she wore for Trooping the Colour in 2013 whe she was about to deliver George.

The only new pieces were a new customised Jane Taylor hat and Kiki McDonoug Classic Morganite and Diamond Cushion Drop Earrings (£3,400). The pair of earrings is described this way: “Two looks in one make these earrings an irresistible buy; featuring a subtle and very pretty pale pink morganite cushion drop on an elegant 18ct white gold and diamond tapered hoop. Build your collection of Kiki drops; they all fit on the same gold or diamond hoops“.
