Every time Chanel presents a new collection , I feel like being in a place of a special celebration..!

This season, Chanel’s creative director Virginie Viard , designed for a marriage party composed of her haute couture cabine, some 32 models in all.

These are not, as Viard says, the conventional fancy nuptials one might expect from a Parisian couture collection, but instead “more bohemian style—more a wedding or a family celebration in a village than at the Ritz!” complete with “the mother and the aunt, [and] the 15-year-old girl dressing up for the first time”—the latter in a tiny little grown-up black dress of spangled black tulle worn with 1980s opaque white tights.

There are also boys at this wedding, or rather girls who, in Viard’s words, are “a little garçonne” and dressed in old fashioned boys’ clothes—tweedy Oxford bags, and waistcoats for instance, a reminder of Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel’s appropriations of menswear in her designs, and her literal borrowing from the wardrobes of her lovers including Boy Capel and the Duke of Westminster.

The mother of the bride, meanwhile, has some chic little suits in silvery embroidery and lace to choose from, or a skinny shrunken cardigan jacket embroidered by Vernoux, while more adventurous guests might opt for a lace jumpsuit or a tiny tweed coat dress with a ruffled overskirt to tie on like an apron.

There are “a lot of flounces and petticoats,” says Viard, as though the Gypsy Kings were playing at the celebration and the guests in those big tulle skirts were going to spin around the town square. “There is a masculine/feminine side to the silhouettes,” she adds, and the fairy-tale grandeur of these pale net ballgowns is brought into the real world when those skirts are paired with white boyfriend shirts, or singlets of crocheted chiffon, worked by the embroidery house of Montex.

To set the scene, the Grand Palais has been transformed this season to evoke the charm of a country wedding in the South of France (the sunshine bright enough for the guests to wear Jacqueline Onassis–scale sunglasses), with rustic arches wrapped in flowers, wooden chairs for the socially distanced guests, and coronets of silk as well as real flowers in the hair—the first time, as far as Viard knows, that Lemarié, fabled for their exquisite artificial flowers, have also worked with the real McCoy.

Be Kind And Be Quiet

It’s been a brilliant year for doing good. But it was a terrible year for virtue signalling. Make 2021 the year you do something kind every day – but don’t tell anyone and don’t post about it on social media. Try buying a meal for a person who needs it, or just call someone you know who’s lonely. Step back and watch the magic happen.

Learn To Listen: It’s More Powerful Than Shouting

Perfecting the art of listening is vital, especially when it comes to activism. “Listening, as opposed to speaking, is challenging because it appears to be passive, but good listening is always active,” says Jane Haynes, psychotherapist at The Blue Door Practice. Listening has empathetic benefits, too. “Empathy as a buzzword is overrated – it’s almost impossible to think yourself into another’s head,” says Haynes. “Our only hope is to listen, and not overlay with our own assumptions. 

Exercise yourself…!

Rather than thinking of exercise as a punishment, shift your focus to how it can make you feel, as well as all the other amazing benefits it brings. From boosting your mood and confidence to increasing productivity and improving the quality of your sleep, when we celebrate movement and stop looking at it as a punishment, we are far more likely to create lasting lifestyle changes. If body composition is your focus, prioritising the above will naturally help with this too.

Find something you enjoy doing

“This is the most important because if you’re not enjoying the form of exercise you’re doing, there isn’t going to be any longevity in it. Whether it’s yoga, pilates, HIIT,  tennis, or kite surfing, find something that really gets you going and that you look forward to.”

Set a routine that works for you

Whether it’s daily or weekly, find your own ideal schedule. In my opinion, it’s better to move little and often than to go too hard and burn out. If mornings aren’t your thing, find another time in the day that is better. If doing five workouts a week doesn’t work, start with two. If an hour doesn’t suit you, start with 20 minutes.

Set yourself small, achievable goals

Don’t start a new year saying you want to lose two stone in January – the likelihood is that it’s not going to happen. Create yourself some small goals that you are able to achieve – if you exceed them, your motivation levels will increase even further.

Invest in a professional

With gyms and studios being shut again, seeking some guidance along the way can really help. Sign up to work with a fitness coach online – it will give you some structure without having to think about it yourself. While it does come at a higher cost, it’s money well spent and will make sure you’re dedicated to attending each week.

Pay much attention to your food

Try to cook as much as possible for you and your family. Pick up the most fresh ingredients. Everything starts from there. Stay focused on healthy meals. Treat your body with love & care.

Other than being healthy, cooking for your family can also contribute to the art of communication with your beloved ones . One of the most important things that everyone needs.

You would hope for something a little off-the-wall from the owners of Sketch. Well, Derrière is on the other side of that wall, through a maddeningly hard-to-find (how Parisian!) unmarked entrance on Rue des Gravilliers.

The entrance opens into a courtyard, and a fabulous apartment. You can eat and drink wherever you like – in the salon, the dining room, the garden, even the bedroom. The food is typically home-cooked, the menu simple and uncomplicated: homemade terrines, beef bourguignon, dark-chocolate mousse. 2. TAKE A DIP IN AN ART DECO LANDMARK

It should come as no surprise that swimming pools in Paris are hard to find. Either they are dark places in basements, or rooftop pools no bigger than a bath. Piscine Molitor is the exception. And what an exceptional pool it is! It was built in 1929, designed to look like an ocean liner in grand Art Deco style, by Lucien Pollet. It was where the bright young things of Hemingway’s Paris came to swim, and where the first bikini was unveiled; and in 2014 it reopened as a hotel. 3. BE THRILLED BY A MODERN-DAY MOULIN ROUGE

More bottoms! Well, this is Paris. The Moulin Rouge cabaret may still exist today, but for a less touristy show, settle into a booth at Le Crazy Horse. Since curtain-up in 1951 it has been the city’s most infamous and spectacular all-female stage show. Lights! Girls! Music! And lots and lots of perfect bottoms! 4. RENT PARISIAN STYLE FOR THE DAY

Giant glass sails make up the exterior façade; and inside, a series of contemporary art exhibitions curated by the LVMH group. The octagon-shaped Baptist Grill, headed up by Michelin-starred chef Tony Fleming, is the place to while away a long lunch or dinner, while Café L’oscar (illuminated by a glowing onyx bar and signature glass birds) is perfect to pop in for a bite, a drink, or a late-night dessert. And the rooms promise a sumptuous night’s sleep.

Bloomsbury has been abuzz with good openings this year. Neptune, located in Russell Square’s The Principal hotel, is already a favourite local haunt, despite only a few months in existence. The modern seafood-focused restaurant is great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. But there’s also a drinks bar with an intriguing cocktail list, an oyster bar, and a menu designed by brilliant gastronomy duo Brett Redman and Margaret Crow (who were previously of popular Hackney hangout The Richmond). When I think of my summer holidays, I could never imagine anything less than sunbathing under the golden sun 🌞 of  my favourite island in  my country , drinking  either smoothies or cold pink Champagne , always combined with gorgeous seafood,  having fabulous Mediterranean breakfast by the pool and diving into the crystal water every half an hour…! Amazing…!

Of course I’m talking about my last experience in Mykonos and the latest Kensho Psarrou, the new brother of the Kensho Ornos Luxury Hotels and Villas.

Kensho Psarrou is a  magic place,  peaceful as a hidden paradise,  built in an ideal environment with great respect to the local architecture and natural surroundings , friendly and helpful personnel and the best beach on the island for sure with excellent service …! Actually I found  Psarrou so attractive in my latest trip in Mykonos,   that I barely went anywhere else.

Our experience at the Kensho Psarou Restaurant was more than brilliant. We got so impressed by the creations of Mr. Anagnostelis that  I’m very sure  we will look for something similar for a long time…

I highly recommend this restaurant as the best in the island  for this summer , 2018 and I suggest the tuna Tartare , the Crawfish orzo or Crawfish Kritharoto and the fish ceviche as the must dishes. Trust me …!

I simply can’t get enough of this magic place…

Those who haven’t yet visited Mykonos, the whitewashed island in the heart of the Cyclades, should expect an Ibiza-ish vibe – glamour, luxury and plenty of parties for those who want them. With its white stone streets, flowering bougainvillea trees and tucked-away churches, it’s a paradise for anyone looking to unwind in the baking Greek sunshine. That said, it’s also a buzzing tourist spot, so insider advice when planning your trip is essential.

“I’d say there are more great beaches on Mykonos than on any other Greek island,” Here I  share my  guide to the destination that me and my family ’ve fallen in love with.

Breakfast by the pool

For me, breakfast in Mykonos is something easy and simple – maybe an omelette with fresh tomatoes or  feta cheese for the majority of Greeks, You’ll be on the Greek summer schedule, so that means you eat it at 11am or 12pm, ideally in your swimsuit by the pool, easing into the day.

Swim and sunbathe

Beach vibes on this island vary hugely, so find the right spot for you. “You have totally wild scenes at Super Paradise, for example, and then super-chill scenes elsewhere. My favourites are Ornos  and Psarou.

“Ornos  beach is smaller and more calm I ‘d say,  but very charming and connected to a great mediterranean restaurant, Kouzina  (the greek word that means kitchen) .

Psarou can be crowded but it is amongst the most beautiful on the island. It has the most incredible Aegean blue water.”

Lunch by the sea

“For a big group, nothing is better than lunch at Spilia,” my personal advice. “It’s an incredible restaurant built into a cave on the seafront, in a quiet part of the island. Most of times, the fish is caught from the sea in front of you.”

Another favourite is Kiki’s Tavern. “You can’t reserve and there’s usually a wait, but it’s worth it because it’s maybe the most authentic taverna on the island. The calamari is amazing, and in terms of local produce, you can never go wrong with a Greek salad – ‘horiatiki’. That combo of tomatoes, feta, cucumbers,  green pepper, onions and olives… there’s nothing better in the world.”

After lunch, walk down to nearby Agios Sostis beach. “Because you can only reach it by hike, it’s super-secluded – definitely not a disco beach.”

Shop at Nammos Village

Oscar de la Renta’s new pop-up is nestled in Nammos Village, a luxury shopping area scattered with palms and olive trees next to Psarou beach. The boutique is designed by Jeang Kim, Laura’s sister, in a traditional Mykonian space with bare stone walls. Pick up ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes and fashion jewellery from the spring, pre-fall and resort 2018 collections; sunglasses from the Oscar de la Renta x Morgenthal Frederics collaboration and an exclusive capsule collection of tunics, kaftans, palazzo pants, swimwear and towel ponchos – all inspired by Mykonos. Visit Delos,  an island of Greek legend

If you can bring yourself to set sail from Mykonos, I suggest renting a boat for a trip to Delos, an Unesco world heritage site around half an hour away. “It has some  amazing Greek ruins and is considered  to have been the birthplace of Apollo.” At one stage this mythology made it so sacred that no mortals were allowed to be born or die on the island.

Enjoy the most Amazing sunset and Drink at Scorpios

I definetely  recommend Scorpios as the must place to be on the island . It’s an amazing , huge bar – restaurant by the sea, really atmospheric in bohemian style. Gorgeous food & cocktails !  Ideal for sunset time & night parties. Don’t skip a Sunday afternoon party..! A super must of Mykonos! I highly recommend it..! It is located  between Paraga and Kavos beaches and the view is simply  breathtaking . They always have the best DJs and fabulous unforgettable parties. too. I insist…!

Dine al fresco

After lazy days in the heat, Mykonians like their evenings more upbeat. There are so many great restaurants on the island, but personally I love the courtyard at Interni – amazing food and the most charming al fresco setting.

Or if the goal is for your party to be dancing on the tables by the time dinner is over, Sea Satin is your place – delicious seafood and great vibes.

If you’re in a more chilled-out mood, try the smaller, upmarket restaurant Katrin .

Be sure to grab one of the few tables outside on the square for great people-watching. Mykonos attracts people from all over the world, so it feels super-cosmopolitan, but laidback at the same time.

Dance all night

My favourite beach club has to be Alemagou in Ftelia.

The music ramps up as the sun is setting – it’s perfect for dancing on the sand. You can go home from there or carry on for late night dancing at Jackie O’s, the most famous bar in town, which is always playing cheesy pop hits until the early morning. Everyone ends up there.

Sleep in luxury

I have  two favourite hotels, which should cater for your needs whether you prefer to be in a quiet spot or at the heart of the action.  I like the Belvedere , downtown  – it’s right in the centre, so the best spot if you want to walk around in the evening,

If a super-relaxed holiday is what you’re there for, the Santa Marina is an amazing resort with a  helipad, private beach – which is a rarity in Mykonos and means you never have to leave. Another reason to stay at this fabulous hotel is that it recently

Unveiled  the World’s First Buddha-Bar Beach, 

which is located there and it is one of the most high end places of the island.

Or for more comfort,  luxury and privacy I highly recommend some of the most Beautiful villas on the island with breathtaking view and excellent VIP service 24 hours.

Of course there are so many more incredible villas on the island which I can give recommendations , but I’d  currently  like to share the ones I really prefer for my accommodations  because apart from feeling  like home there,  I feel so lucky when I meet the owners. They are all wonderful people , so hospitable and friendly that I always be there so happy like visiting my own relatives.
