1. Paris  – Le Jules Verne

   

Perched on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower, Michelin-starred restaurant Le Jules Verne is another Alain Ducasse destination. –   Grand Salon, Baccarat Hotel

The Grand Salon earns its name through a palette of platinum and sparkling neutral shades, Jouffre silk-covered walls, parquet floors, and plush, high-backed banquettes. Here, drinks and dining complement social exchanges beneath a 64-arm Baccarat chandelier. Days debut with pastries on its central marble table; evenings begin when the circle of champagne bottles appears in a bright silver vasque; nights end with craft cocktails in cut-crystal tumblers. Whirring white-hot with a sense of secrecy, this is the hotel’s humming heart.

The shaggy chairs along the windows of the Baccarat Hotel’s second-floor Grand Salon looked creepily familiar. Even in muted evening light, when “chandeliers have dimmed to a coquettish wattage,” as their Web site puts it, the white, black and brown fur covering them seemed to closely resemble the creatures running rampant around town.

Visually stunning with a dose of French “je ne sais quoi”, the Grand Salon is inherently memorable—a quality well-suited for lavish celebrations.

3. Rome

Eating at Aroma is a truly exclusive fine-dining experience. Its terrace, situated on the top floor of the 17th-century Palazzo Manfredi looks out directly onto the Colosseum from the east (we recommend you book a table for dinner to watch as the sun sets behind it), and is only large enough to fit a handful of guests.

With a five-star Diamond Award from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences and a Michelin Star to its name, it promises more than just breathtaking views, and guarantees a first-class menu and service to accompany the brilliant backdrop of one of the greatest architectural wonders of Imperial Rome.

4. London  –

Berners Tavern

Even if you’re a stone-cold unromantic Monty Burns type, Berners Tavern can and will win you over. For one, it’s one of the most beautiful buildings in London, an opulent structure rammed with classic features, wall-to-wall paintings and luxuriously cosy booths. It’s a place which is bustling and yet allows you privacy. Secondly, it’s masterminded by Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton.

Unsurprisingly, the food is beautifully decadent, rich and plentiful. The chargrilled focaccia with burrata, heritage tomatoes and honey is a delight. While the mac and cheese is the best you’ll have. Smoother than a Quincy Jones anecdote, it’s pure indulgence. A must have is the chocolate and hazelnut flaming Alaska for two. Crunchy, boozy, it’s a scientific wonder. Order it with your significant other, wait until they go to the toilet and then demolish it to yourself. Pure romance.

5.  St. Lucia

Cong – The Dungeon at Ashford Castle

Ashford Castle is world renowned as one of the top venues for a wedding, and not surprisingly, the castle also offers one of the most romantic places in the world to pop the question. 7.  San Franscisco , Waterbar

Gorgeous views, bold flavors and a whimsical interior have made Waterbar a seafood-lover’s dream.

Waterbar is one of the Bay Area’s finest sustainable seafood restaurant, and features a full lounge, views of the Bay Bridge and the Ferry Building, private dining, San Francisco’s best patio and unbeatable cocktails and service. Located on the Embarcadero between the Bay Bridge and the Ferry Building.

Definitely one of my best restaurants in the Bay Area.

8. Moscow

– Bon

Dubbed a ‘dark shrine to the Moscow excesses of sex, violence and food’ when it first opened, Bon is one of the most unusual restaurants in Moscow.

The creation of renowned designer Philippe Starck, Bon’s interior is an eclectic mix of black walls,

dripping candles and Kalashnikov rifles posing as lampshades. Food critics have labeled the décor anything from Gothic to gangster, and despite several ownership changes the social cream of Moscow have continued to flock to the place.

The food is of a high standard and a broad mix of European cuisine, while the atmosphere has a definite restaurant-club vibe.
