The first space, from designers at Ando Studio, uses white to create a truly posh look. In contrast to white molded walls and linen sofas, are a few bold black stripes and of course some gilded accents. An ornate mirror, a silvery candlestick, and even a striking rusted gear art piece/conversation starter each create their own force fields of interest, adding their personality to the otherwise white, chilled out space. With the addition of a plush purple modern wingback chair, this white house takes a turn towards contemporary royalty.

CAPITOL GRAND – 241 TOORAK ROAD, SOUTH YARRA MELBOURNE

 Urban Melbourne today takes an in depth look at the latest and greatest proposal for The Capitol in South Yarra. Acquired by former Dodo founder Larry Kestelman's LK Property Group it becomes the seventh incarnation in a long list of development proposals for the 5,600sqm former Capitol Bakeries site on the corner of Toorak Road and Chapel Street.

Located within the rapidly evolving Forrest Hill precinct the project has been designed as a gateway development and an iconic landmark for the area, with an increase in height from 41-storeys to 58-storeys. As a result a subsequent refinement was undertaken resulting in more fluid forms articulated as a series of flowing horizontal ribbons across both masses before becoming more solid with an almost gill-like expression running up the face of the tallest tower.

Since the massive 60-story luxury tower is where News Corp CEO Rupert Murdoch recently put down more than $50 million for a penthouse apartment.

But the list of the building’s A-list tenants doesn’t stop there. It doesn’t get much more A-list than supermodel Gisele Bundchen and quarterback Tom Brady, who have a $14 million condo on the 47th floor.

 The power couple already has two homes in Connecticut and Los Angeles, but will now have a luxurious place to stay when they are in the city.

Hugely spacious for Manhattan, the open floorplan and massive windows make the condo seem even larger. 

While there is no telling what furniture Gisele and Tom might choose, these cozy chaises would be perfect for cuddling up and watching a New York sunset.

The 60-story building is located just across from Madison Square Park on East 22nd Street. The building features a private gym, butler-serviced dining room, commissioned artwork in the secure lobby, and amazing views of New York City. 

432 Park Avenue is a residential skyscraper in New York City that overlooks Central Park. Originally proposed to be 1,300 feet (396.2 meters) in 2011,  the structure topped out at 1,396 ft (425.5 m). It was developed by CIM Group and features 125 condominium apartments. Construction began in 2012 and was completed on December 23, 2015.

While the towering buildings of the New York City skyline are constantly changing, shifting, and growing, it is rare to have any construction project overtake the most famous skyscrapers in the city. This is particularly true of apartment buildings. However, as of October 2014, when the last bit of concrete was poured, the new building at 432 Park Avenue is the tallest residential building not only in Manhattan, but in the entire western hemisphere. The building sits between 56th and 57th streets, overlooking Central Park and huge swaths of the city. In fact, some condos even have views all the way out to the Atlantic.
The building measures 1396 feet (425 meters) tall, which makes it taller than both the iconic Empire State Building and the art deco-style Chrysler Building.

The design of the structure was conceived by architect Rafael Viñoly who was inspired by a trash can designed in 1905 by Austrian designer Josef Hoffmann. The tower has eighty-four 8,255-square-foot (766.9 m²) stories, each with six 100-square-foot (9.3 m²) windows per face. Interiors are designed by Deborah Berke and the firm Bentel & Bentel, which also designed Eleven Madison Park and the Gramercy Tavern. To support its thin orthogonal frame, the structure features larger columns at its base than on the upper floors.

Of course, living in a massive luxury building like this one (on Park Avenue nonetheless) does not come without a price tag. The price range for the condos starts at $16.96 million and goes up from there, with the top priced unit being the sprawling penthouse suite, which listed at $95 million. Unfortunately, that one has already sold.

And the luxury does not stop with the exterior of the building. The units’ interiors were designed by Deborah Berke and include solid oak floors and Italian marble countertops, plus luxurious 12.5-foot ceilings.

The building has many amenities, too, including a restaurant on the ground level, a private gym, pool, and billiards room.

But even without occupants, the skyline of the Big Apple has already been permanently altered by this impressive structure.

But it is really the views that are worth the price. With stunning 10 foot by 10 foot windows, residents can enjoy unmatched views of the city from every room. Even from the bath. Every condo sits about 365 feet, so while a penthouse view doesn’t come with each unit, there are no sidewalk-level options, either.

As completed, 432 Park Avenue is the third tallest building in the United States, and the tallest residential building in the world. It is the second-tallest building in New York City, behind One World Trade Center, and ahead of the Empire State Building. It is also the first, and so far only, building in New York City outside the World Trade Center Complex to be taller than the original twin towers.

By the end of 2015, close to 90% of the apartments had been sold, with almost every other owner being a foreign citizen, “part of a global elite that collects residences like art.” It has been estimated that the majority of the units will remain unoccupied for more than ten months a year.
