44m-long, 8.30m-wide and featuring an aluminium hull and superstructure, this yacht can host 10 passengers in 5 cabins, all located on the lower deck, as well as 8 crew members. Thanks to 2 MTU 3600hp engines she can reach an impressive maximum speed of 30 knots in the utmost comfort, while the 4 at-anchor stabilisers grant flawless stability even when the yacht is far out at sea.

The interiors draw inspiration from the rational and yet sophisticated world of aviation. Wood, steel and leather – the materials used all over the yacht – combine harmoniously into a skilful blend of cream, beige and grey shades that create a stylish, refined atmosphere.

Nabuk leather coffee tables and the dark Wengé and satin steel dining table; the lamps combining steel, silk shantung and Nabuk leather. Satin steel outlines the sober style of handles, solid wood cabinets and anti-rolling systems. Another important detail are the sofa backrests, which are collapsible and therefore allow to obtain even larger seats.

The wood used for the bulwarks – bleached sycamore – can also be found in all ceiling panels and, together with the ash & Wengé parquet and the dove-colour silk inserts, conveys a sense of calm and refinement.

The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing, similar to that found on large private jets, and is further enhanced by a skilful use of lighting, aimed at ‘softening’ the wood curves even more.

Lighting has been carefully studied also when designing the cabins: all lights are indeed intentionally hidden, with indirect sources managed by the onboard home automation system allowing to select – also from a mini iPad – not only various pre-set scenarios, but also all Bang & Olufsen video and stereo systems. Inside the cabins – where sycamore is juxtaposed with different types of leather – the colour of teak harmoniously combines with that of the streaks of the brushed Botticino marble, the material used for the washbasins.

Outdoor areas play a key role on this yacht: forward, a sundeck in front of the helm station windshield allows to enjoy a pleasant conversation area, while the two collapsible balconies can be converted into magnificent terraces overlooking the sea, for total relaxation. The roomy flybridge features a day area with sofas, sun loungers and a dining area with two small tables that can be joined together to obtain one single large table seating up to 12 people.

The very distinguishing feature on this yacht are the two collapsible side balconies: two wonderful terraces allowing guests to enjoy incredibly relaxing moments just over the sea.

Thanks to two 3600hp MTU engines, the Monokini can reach an impressive maximum speed of 30 knots, while the 4 at-anchor stabilisers grant flawless stability even when the yacht is far out at sea.

The yacht will be classified RINA and MCA for commercial purposes.

After the launch Monokini will remain at the shipyard until June for the completion of onboard fitting-out operations. She will then be on display at Cannes and Monaco international boat shows.

Built in steel and aluminium, the yacht develops over five decks (lower deck, main deck, upper deck, Owner’s deck, sun deck) plus a sub lower deck which is used as a technical area. It can comfortably accommodate 12 guests – in six VIP cabins and the Owner’s apartment – and 33 crew members, including 27 sailors and 6 members of the Owner’s personal staff.

The new flagship is the outcome of the integration of different skills and the fruitful cooperation between the CRN Engineering team, in charge of naval architecture, and Studio Zuccon International Project, the design firm that developed the vessel’s exterior lines and interior layout.

Upon specific request by the Owner, the interior concept and all furniture and furnishings have been designed by interior designer Laura Sessa, as is mentioned below. The vessel was sold also thanks to the precious support of Alain Maraoui – Head of Ferretti Group’s dealer Sea Pros.

Conceived as a family house, the Chopi Chopi epitomises and develops further the distinctive features, innovative character and soul of CRN yachts, and stands out for its immense spaciousness, a light, airy environment, streamlined and yet soft lines, a painstaking care for details and onboard wellbeing, light effects and, last but not least, a direct visual contact with the sea.

The final result is a perfect balance of classic and contemporary style, elegance and refinement, with the unmistakable, original touch added by the use of various precious materials (wood, marble, leather, metal) and the selection of extraordinary colour shades, ranging from the pastel colours of the exterior (the hull eggshell, the brown of some furniture and fabrics) all the way to the bright, cheerful colours found indoor, harmoniously enhanced by natural light and artificial lighting solutions.

Glimpses at the past : January 31st 2013

Because Chopi Chopi was the first CRN launch under its new ownership, the Ferretti Group chairman, Tan Xuguang, at left (with Ferruccio Rossi, Ferretti Group CEO) had  flown  in from China to participate in the celebrations.

Taking into consideration Chopi Chopi’s considerable size – this yacht has an indoor floor area of 1,000 sq. m and an outdoor area of 800 sq. m – interior designer Laura Sessa chose to design the yacht’s interiors so as to ensure the utmost comfort and functionality not only for the Owner, but also for the crew.

Here a shoot from  the christening  , several members of the owner’s family gathered atop a staircase positioned opposite Chopi Chopi’s immense bow. To the left on that platform, in profile, was CRN’s chairman and CEO, Lamberto Tacoli. He, along with a few helpful hands of the younger members of the owner’s family, had  let the champagne bottle fly.

Perini Navi is honoured to announce that Grace E, the 73m Picchiotti branded motor yacht created by the Perini Navi Group, was crowned Motor Yacht of the Year at the 10th edition of the Boat International World Superyacht Awards on Saturday 9th May in Amsterdam.

The awards ceremony – known as the Oscars Night of the yachting world – recognized Grace E’s unique combination of distinctive lines, stunning Remi Tessier designed interiors, perfect execution of detail and outstanding quality.

The esteemed jury of passionate and experienced yacht owners has awarded Grace E with 2 awards:

• Motor Yacht of the Year – from among the 9 category winning Motor Yachts

Both brands of the Italian leading manufacturer of luxury yachts obtained significant recognition on the occasion of the 11th Asia Boating Awards organized by Blu Inc., publisher of the magazines “Asia Pacific Boating” and “China Boating” and serves as an important point of reference for the industry in the Asia Pacific area.

The top prize in the“Best Worldwide Production Motor Yacht (25m and above)” was awarded to Azimut Grande 95 RPH by Azimut Yachts, 

The 11th Asia Boating Awards were presented on May 1st 2015, during a luxurious gala at Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel on the opening night of the Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show (May 1-3).

The prestigious Asia Boating Awards were presented in 21 categories, showcasing Asian builders and international brands, as well as Asian regattas and marinas. The region, especially Hong Kong and Singapore, is continuing to grow as a major market for yachts, superyachts and related products/services such as marinas and service centres.

Aston Martin is getting into the boat business! While it’s not a tender, this 37-footer is something we could see a superyacht owner wanting to zip around in.

Two versions are available. One is a thoroughly sporty powerboat capable of 60 knots, and the other is more luxury-oriented, topping out at 50 knots.

Iconic & Gorgeous…!

Created by the naval architect Ken Freivokh, the 351-foot Stiletto has a futuristic profile and sweeping interior that makes this Oceanco concept yacht one of the most interesting designs of the year.

Freivokh’s inspired exterior features several aft terraces—one equipped with a 25-foot-long swimming pool—that provide exceptional views of the water. The enormous forward social area—unusual even for a yacht of this magnitude—has another swimming pool, bar, recliners, and a shading system. The yacht’s helipad sits forward of this area, while a beach club is positioned at the transom of the yacht.

While its exterior is a striking example of traditional open-plan design, its interior is one of the most unique of the superyacht sector.

A two-story saloon with a 20-foot-high ceiling and a skylight that delivers an atrium-like feel also features a mezzanine balcony, glass elevator, and a large spiral staircase. The 50-foot beam of the yacht, combined with the tall ceiling, gives the saloon the sweeping feel of a grand ballroom.

Stiletto is also optimized for performance, featuring a hybrid propulsion system that minimizes fuel consumption. Its twin diesels connect to an electric motor to increase efficiency and reduce emissions. The yacht also has a special system that reuses spent energy. Even with all of its eco-friendly components, Stiletto can still reach a theoretical top speed of 18.5 knots. (oceancoyacht.com)

The 47m yacht has four staterooms, an owners’ suite, spa pool and gymnasium. The yacht’s homeport is the Bahamas, hence the shallow draft of just 2.2m. The addition of zero-speed stabilisers adds to the vessel’s suitability for luxurious and comfortable anchoring. Another feature is the enclosed flybridge where the side windows can be raised and lowered to ensure the comfort of the owner and guests.

In the international community of yacht owners, it is not unusual for women to be active partners, closely involved in projects from conception through construction to enjoyment. But the number of women who, on their own, take on commissioning a new yacht makes up a small and very exclusive group.

The owner of the new 154-foot Ed Dubois-designed Loretta Anne, a Canadian businesswoman, not only signed off on the order with New Zealand’s Alloy Yachts, she also parlayed a three-way deal with the yard, which involved trading in her existing Dubois motor yacht, the 126-foot SQN, and buying a new interim boat, the 131-foot Allogante, to keep her afloat while her new project was under construction.

The main deck salon and dining area is extremely spacious, and large side windows provide sumptuous views, while the transition out onto the aft deck adds to the sense of space. The curved glass bar and alfresco dining table will make the aft deck a popular gathering place, with a sliding roof providing shelter from the sun or the evening chill.

Forward of the salon and interior dining space on the port side is the chef’s restaurant-style kitchen and an intermediate serving station. A companionway on the starboard side leads forward to a lobby with an S-shaped staircase leading down to the guest accommodations. The companionway continues beyond the lobby to the owner’s suite, which comprises a spacious stateroom with a separate study and a large his-and-hers en suite.

‘My love of boats probably comes from spending a lot of time in The Bahamas and Bermuda when I was young,’she says. ‘Water, boats, sailing, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving — anything to do with the water.’

This owner is no stranger to large yachts. Together with her husband, she owned four motor yachts of various sizes, culminating with SQN, which they bought in 2005 after enjoying a Mediterranean charter on board.

On the lower deck, guests are accommodated in two mirror-image VIP suites and a twin stateroom with a Pullman berth—ideal for grandchildren as it comes complete with a bathtub in the en suite. The crew area, forward of the guest space, has separate access to the main deck.

Their long-time captain, Philip Shirley, recalls that the husband, who was well known for his incredible work ethic, spent much of his time on board working, only stopping for occasional swims. Boating was principally the wife’s passion. ‘She was the driving force behind the boat projects and organized most of their boating trips,’ notes Shirley, who was the owner’s representative throughout the Loretta Anne build.

After the death of her husband in 2008, she began to contemplate a new boat project. Alloy Yachts builtSQN in 2003 to a design by Dubois Naval Architects with a Donald Starkey interior, a combination she liked.

Given that history, she returned to Alloy Yachts when she started considering a new boat. By coincidence,Allogante, Alloy’s venture into marketing a spec boat, was available with the same Dubois-Starkey naval architecture/interior design pedigree. However, like SQN, Allogante had been completed to somebody else’s brief. Ultimately, she wanted to do her own project. It just happened that Alloy’s chairman, Gary Lane, had design drawings from Dubois Naval Architects for a larger boat. He had proposed to build this design for himself, but he was prepared to relinquish it to a new owner. Here was an opportunity to draw on a virtually blank canvas, and the three-way SQN-Allogante-Loretta Anne deal was struck. ‘Allogante was bought as an interim boat. This final one was the one that I could get just the way I wanted it. That was the thinking,’ she says.

Two-and-a-half years later, the 154-foot Loretta Anne was launched. She is immediately distinctive for her vertical forward-facing surfaces on the main deck, wheelhouse and flybridge. The wheelhouse and flybridge screens are glass, while the main deck surface is painted to match the dark glass of the superstructure.

One key element was a shallow draft, as the owner still spends much of her time in The Bahamas. Consequently, the two-and-a-half deck, raised-pilothouse arrangement Dubois has used before on smaller motor yachts such as SQN, Ad Lib, Como and Allogante was retained for Loretta Anne, keeping the centre of gravity low and the draft to just over seven feet.

At 23 feet longer than Allogante, the new Loretta Anne is clearly a much larger volume boat, but the additional space is not just for the guests’ indulgence. ‘The boat is bigger in all respects, so the three guest suites and master are inevitably more spacious,’ says the owner, who resisted the temptation to add more suites, as she prefers entertaining smaller parties.

The owner plans to spend her first season of ownership in the wide Pacific Ocean before venturing farther afield. This energetic and creative woman has a busy schedule of places to go, things to see. In the exclusive club of women who have authored their own yachts, she is to be commended for the vessel she and her team have created for the purpose.

The fine-entry hull is powered by a single Wärtsilä main engine with a propeller that is around 40% bigger than usual. A large electrically powered contra-rotating and azimuthing stern thruster is aft of the main propeller to ensure excellent manoeuvrability at close quarters. “It is not the individual technologies used on Savannah that are new in the yachting world – it is the way they have been combined,” says the owner’s project manager Ted McCumber. “Feadship has leveraged all the options available to bring this hugely innovative system to completion. The possibility to choose between diesel, diesel-electric or fully electric is truly exceptional. Moreover, Savannah is the first yacht in the world to be running with an azipull and a variable-pitch propeller.”

A study in design: Savannah shines a light on the North Sea

Savannah’s interior – also designed by CG Design – features an owner’s stateroom, four guest suites and one VIP stateroom with a balcony. She has room for 26 crew. There is also a tender bay finished in teak with a hatch that doubles as a mooring platform. After docking, guests can walk inside the garage and take the stairs straight up to the main deck.

Smooth, suave, sultry…. Savannah!

“Savannah is a yacht full of firsts,” says Feadship director Henk de Vries. “As the first-ever hybrid superyacht, she offers incredible flexibility in operations and loading of the power plant. The way in which one gigantic propeller has been installed in front with another electrically powered prop in its slipstream has never been applied on a yacht. A similar system has been used on board passenger ships in Japan, but that is an ‘industrial’ solution, without the attention to comfort required on a Feadship. Another major innovation is the batteries, which were suggested by the owner. These provide extra speed at the top end, allow proper loading of the generators at any speed, and mean super-quiet cruising at low speeds without any engines turning. We have installed Li-ion batteries with no less than one million Watts.”

The Italian shipyard says she is set to become the new flagship of the semi-displacement line, and the largest Navetta ever built by Custom Line. The yacht will make her debut in the summer 2016.

At 37m long and with a 8m beam, the Navetta 37 boasts a brand-new hull with a bulbous bow. The project for the hull, whose maximum draft will not exceed 2.10m, aims to ensure the utmost efficiency in any and all sea conditions. It also allows the owner to choose from among as many as four engine configurations.

Ferretti Group’s chief commercial officer Stefano De Vivo, comments: “Excellence in the widest and highest sense of this term: this is the word that best represents the new Navetta 37, which is the heir of so many generations of successful yachts under Custom Line’s brand, but also a vessel boasting state-of-the art technology and design.”

Every Navetta yacht in Ferretti’s Custom Line is conceived for long-range cruising and to make sure that owners and guests enjoy every single moment on board these outstanding examples of naval engineering.

The Navetta 37 is also fitted with Ferretti’s patented Dual Mode Transom (DMT) system, which allows moving the garage door upwards and downwards, thereby making technical operations easier and creating an outdoor beach area. In addition, the yacht features an indoor lounge brightened by a large hull glazing.

Designers have also worked on a much more efficient interior layout on the Navetta 37 to provide a better organisation of onboard flows, total privacy for the owner and his guests, and great freedom of movement for the captain and the crew.

The Navetta 37 comes standard with the VOTIS (Videoworks One Touch Infotainment System) infotainment and management system. She is also equipped with electrical-hydraulic stabilising fins featuring the underway and

zero speed modes, which reduce rolling and are installed standard on this yacht. The yard says gyroscopic stabilizers can also be added upon request.

Propulsion for the yacht is available in four different configurations, ranging from 8 to 12 cylinders. These different options offer wide choice of engines. In the standard version the Navetta 37 is equipped with two MTU 8V 2000 M94, 1268 Mhp engines.
