How about sleeping under the stars on a rooftop in NYC…?

April 12, 2016

Toasting marshmallows, telling ghost stories around the campfire, sleeping under the stars: these are the idyllic moments of camping. Now add a luxurious queen-size bed, a state-of-the-art telescope, strawberries and Champagne, and rooftop views of New York City, for a whole new urban glamping experience…. Isn’t it just woow…?

Several hotels in New York are giving guests the option of sleeping outdoors with the added luxuries of five-star service according to the specialiists of  Condé Nast Traveller.

AKA Central Park

At AKA Central Park, just up the road from its namesake and the superb shops of 5th Avenue, guests can cosy up on a queen-size bed in front of a wood-burning fire on the private terrace of a penthouse suite. At 17 storeys high, the wraparound terrace offers 360 degree views of the city; or guests can look skywards and stargaze with a provided telescope, while dining on strawberries, Jacques Torres s’mores (a kind of marshmallow and chocolate-biscuit sandwich), cheeses and Champagne.

An e-reader loaded with campfire stories, plus a selection of classic black-and white horror movies, will also be available to spice up the night.

Hyatt 48 Lex
